A President's Day Music Minute!

It’s a very special day when you can buy a mattress or dining set from a founding father and, luckily for residents of the United States, that occasion comes around once each year. It’s no running of the bulls but as silly traditions go, this one fits.

This throwback recording is from all the way back in season three before professor pianist transformed back into Arne Parrott and became one of the hottest podcast soundtrack writers on the market. Find more of his work at atptunes.com.

Written and performed by Arne Parrott. Ft. The voices of Ansel Burch and Anna Gaetke.

SRD Shorts: Sleepy Pants (Baking with Missy O' Danagher)

It’s been a full year since our first quarantine show and while we still love bread, it;s clear that the baking has become a thin metaphor. Enjoy this fresh musical episode as the pretense of baking slips farther away. Not to worry though. The relatable content is… right there on the surface.

Boozlers in the Basement: January

Eugene, Beulah and Glade Boozler have all been trapped in the basement of the Station Inn, Nashville since the beginning of the quarantimes without a single trip out to buy emergency TP or just go for a walk to make sure the neighborhood still looks the way they remember (highly recommended). So, to say they’re going a little stir crazy is an understatement. How will a cabinet full of old games, most of which are missing pieces or have beer crusted on them, help keep them from losing it? SRD Presents: Cerddoriaeth Celtica E16: Mallt y Nos

Welcome to Cerddoriaeth Celtica, a companion piece for the Starlight Radio Dreams series “Celtica”. When we conceived of Celtica, the desire was to create an adventure serial which used music as part of the action and story. From using music to power Celtica’s magic tools to musical numbers for the big moments, Celtica does exactly that. And Cerddoriaeth Celtica lets us further explore the beauty of Celtic music, both as part of the serial and just for its own sake.

In this episode of Cerddoriaeth Celtica, Karolyn Blake, co writer for Celtica and the actor behind the title character, gets into the spirit of the season by telling the tale of “Mallt y Nos.” She also dives into the folk tradition of Welsh death omens. Spoooooky.

Sometimes we all just need some beautiful music to calm the world and let us focus. Thankfully Eugene Boozler is here to do exactly that. The Boozlers seem to still be trapped in the basement of the Station Inn in Nashville but they’re managing to keep it together. I don’t have a joke for that but it is impressive just how well they’re holding up.

SRD Presents: Ceddoriaeth Celtica E7: Cainc Yr Aradwr

Welcome to Cerddoriaeth Celtica, a companion piece for the Starlight Radio Dreams series “Celtica”. When we conceived of Celtica the desire was to create an adventure serial which used music as part of the action and story. We hope that this series will continue that mission by extending the story of the Celtic music that helps inspire the show.

In this fourth episode of Cerddoriaeth Celtica, Karolyn Blake, co writer for Celtica and the actor behind the title character, sings Cainc Yr Aradwr, a song about the pangs of longing for something you can’t quite put into words.

Starlight Radio Dreams is making more content than ever before which includes featuring some of the amazing musical talents of our cast and crew. In April and May we’re posting music every single Sunday!

SRD Presents: Crashing Super Early

Being an adult mans that you can do whatever you want right? Like you could eat pudding any time. If you don’t want to change your sheets, no one else is going to make you. Sadly, it also means you have to be the one making yourself change your sheets and deciding when you’ve probably had enough sweets for the month after last time you bought pudding. Sleep is the same way. You gotta sleep and while grown ups can go to bed whenever they want, chances are pretty good if you’ve got stuff to do in the morning; that next achievement in Animal Crossing should wait. Well, one more, then for sure you’ll go to bed. This song from the amazing Jake Dewar as Mr. Studebaker should help to bring us all to peace with what we ought to be doing even if tomorrow’s commute is just from the bed to the table within 30 feet of bed where you have your computer set up.

Performed and produced by Jake Dewar.
